RETIREMENT COURSE

CHARLESTON, S.C.(Jan. 6)--A four-part course on how to plan for a successful retirement will be held at The Citadel in February. Key concepts and practices of wise money management will be covered. The course is designed for individuals and couples who plan on retiring in the next five to 10 years and those who have already retired and are looking for ways to live on their current income.

     Topics that will be addressed include how to generate a steady income, protect your assets from erosion, minimize taxes and provide a secure retirement for yourself and your spouse. All attendees will receive a confidential personal financial plan, a comprehensive workbook and home study materials.

     The course will be taught by Manuel "Manny" Jimenez IV and Carla Jimenez, of Affiliated Financial Consultants. The course instructors have more than 22 years of combined experience in local investment and retirement planning. Mr. Jimenez is a 1980 graduate of The Citadel. The course is a non-credit educational course and no products will be promoted or offered during the seminar.

     The four-part course, "Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement," will be offered on consecutive Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 7 to 9:30 p.m. beginning on Feb. 7 for the Tueaday series and Feb. 9 for the Thursday series. The course will be held in Bond Hall, Room 165, on The Citadel's campus.

     The cost of this exclusive course is only $89 per individual and spouse or guest for advanced registrants or $99 per individual and spouse or guest for registrants at the door.
