The Dargans, who lived in Charleston for 12 years, have designed many of Charleston's most beautiful gardens. Currently in Atlanta, they've completed projects in 14 states and in England. Their work has been featured in a myriad of publications, including Gardens of Historic Charleston and the recent Gardens of the 21st Century, which highlights designers from all over the world.
The Emily Whaley Memorial Lecture is in tribute to lifetime Charleston gardener, Emily Fishburne Whaley who believed that in gardening the eye is trained to discover beauty.
