As part of The Citadel Greater Issues Series, Katie Koestner will deliver her nationally prominent address on date rape to the Corps of Cadets on Thursday, December 2, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. in the McAlister Field House.
Koestner, who appeared on the June 3, 1991 cover of Time Magazine, has received national attention for speaking out against a crime of silence. In 1993, Koestner completed a project with HBO, the Lifestories Docudrama entitled No Visible Bruises: The Katie Koestner Story. Koestner graduated in 1994, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Since graduating, Katie has presented her acclaimed program, No/Yes, to students at more than 600 colleges, high schools, and military institutions in 47 states and internationally.
There will be a question and answer session immediately following the presentation. The public is invited to attend.
The
Citadel's Greater Issues Series was established in 1953 by Gen.
Mark Clark (former president of The Citadel) to give cadets insight
into the issues they face as future leaders of society by giving
them the opportunity to learn from national and international
distinguished leaders.
