Angel Tree Project: Christmas trees decorated with
stars displaying the names of more than 300 needy children and
their gift wishes will be available on campus in Bond Hall, Mark
Clark Hall, Daniel Library, and the Gift Shop. The public is invited
to participate with The Citadel in giving this season.
December 2
Christmas Tree Lighting, 7:00 p.m.: Director of Choral
Activities Nancy Lefter will lead members of the candlelight choir
and spectators in a medley of Christmas carols at the annual lighting
of The Citadel Christmas tree in front of 2nd battalion on the
college campus. Open to the public.
December 4-6
Christmas Candlelight Service, 7:30 p.m.: The South
Carolina Corps of Cadets will present the annual Christmas Candlelight
service at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in Summerall
Chapel on The Citadel campus. The combined cadet choir, accompanied
by a cadet brass ensemble, will observe the events of the Advent,
the Annunciation, the Birth of the King, and Epiphany through
Scripture lessons and carols. Traditional and international favorites
will be sung, and special highlights will include the Procession
of Lights. There is no charge for the hour-long program. Donations
are accepted. Flash cameras and video lights are not permitted.
