CHARLESTON, S.C., Aug 21. The Citadel has been ranked 2nd in the South among regional universities in the category of "best college values" in U.S. News & World Reports annual ranking of colleges. The Citadel also ranked 6th (up from 8th last year) in the South in the category of best regional universities. The rankings will appear in the 12th annual edition of "Americas Best Colleges" guidebook which will hit newsstands and bookstores on Monday, August 24. All the rankings will also be available on U.S. News Online (http://www.usnews.com) on Friday, August 21.
The Citadel again received high marks for academic reputation, cost, graduation and retention rates, and student/faculty ratio. This years ratings mark the 6th consecutive time The Citadel earned a slot in the survey among best buys among colleges, and the 13th time the college was ranked in the prestigious college guidebook.
