CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 12.--Patrick Cleburne "Clebe" McClary III, a native of Georgetown, S.C. and one of the country's most outstanding and inspirational speakers, will speak at The Citadel during Homecoming 1997. McClary will deliver his speech on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. during the Protestant Service in the Summerall Chapel.
McClary was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966 and served in Vietnam from 1967 until 1968. He survived the Vietnam experience resulting in the loss of an eye and an arm. He underwent 34 reconstructive surgeries and three years of hospitalization.
Author, McClary will present his "Keys to Success" and share his philosophy on leadership, motivation, teamwork, commitment, attitude, discipline and success.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts.
