CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 26--Educators from throughout the Southeast will attend the 18th Annual Reading Conference at The Citadel on Dec. 5 and 6.

     The conference will include presentations by the finalist for Charleston County School District's Distinguished Reading Teachers and will focus on opportunities for working with elementary and high school students. Fifteen concurrent sessions will present strategies in which music, writing, prompts, standardized testing, social studies literature, drama, and puppetry can be used to enhance reading and writing.

     Speakers will include Dori Sanders, author of Clover, Her Own Place and Dori Sanders' Country Cooking; Margie Clary, a local storyteller and author of A Sweet, Sweet Basket, and Searching the Lights; and Patricia Edwards, Professor of Teacher Education at Michigan State University.
