Citadel to host Civil War art exhibit

Charleston, SC (Nov. 21)--The Citadel Daniel Library is currently hosting a Civil War exhibit of battles in bronze. This exhibit is being displayed until December 15. The seventeen piece series of limited edition bronzed is the most recent collection by world renowned sculptor, Eric H. Baret, M.D..

Baret's sculptures have been shown in Europe and most recently were included at the Third Annual Rodin Exhibition at the Utsukushi-Ga-Hara Museum in Japan.

Being an avid student of history, Baret scrupulously works to ensure the historical accuracy of the clothing and weaponry. His work is a high quality of execution combined with the richness of the message and the play of light.

Dr. Baret has been sculpting for about twenty five years and has produced several series including a western and mystical series.

A native of Burgundy region of France, Dr. Baret is a full time practicing pediatrician living in Carrollton, Georgia.

There will be a reception at Daniel Library honoring Dr. Baret on December 15 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. For more information call the Daniel Library at The Citadel, (953-5116).
