Dr. Sybil Prince Nelson

 

Dr. Sybil Prince Nelson is a Visiting Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Citadel. Sybil holds a PhD in Biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina, a master’s in Mathematics from the College of Charleston and a bachelor’s in Mathematics and Music from Washington and Lee University. Her research interests include random forests and methodological issues in logic regression and Classification and Regression Tree analysis. As a professor, Sybil’s pedagogical approach is to attempt to make mathematics accessible and enjoyable for students of all levels of ability. In her spare time, Sybil is an award-winning fiction author, writing as Sybil Nelson and Leslie DuBois.
