Cadet dies in auto accident

Memorial Service
A memorial service for Cadet Leith Paul Trask will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 in Summerall Chapel.
Cadet Leith Paul Trask III was killed Monday in a car accident near his home in Beaufort.

Trask, 20, was a sophomore in Tango Company and a pre-business major. He played football his freshman year. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leith Paul Trask Jr. of Beaufort.

All the details of the accident are not in yet, but Mr. Trask apparently was enroute to Fripp Island on Highway 21 near Beaufort when his car collided with trees and caught fire Monday evening.

A small graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery across from the Beaufort National Cemetery on Boundary Street in Beaufort. Copeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Corps of Cadets is currently on Thanksgiving furlough. A campus memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
