ROTC Fulfillment Program
Upper level students who are not pursuing a military contract will fulfill their ROTC requirement by taking a 3-credit-hour leadership-oriented class each semester during their Junior and Senior years. Each non-contracting student is responsible for successfully completing one ROTC fulfillment class in each semester in residence of the junior and senior year. All non-contracting students must take LDRS 371 (or BADM 371 for Business major students).
The remaining ROTC fulfillment courses include two groups of classes: Leadership Studies minor classes (in Leadership Studies, Political Science, History, Education, English, Health and Human Performance, Biology, Ethics, Psychology, or Project Management); as well as high-impact practices classes such as capstones, internships, or undergraduate research classes.
If classes from a student’s major are included among the ROTC fulfillment classes, the student may use them to count both for the major and for ROTC fulfillment. A student may also use the fulfillment courses to also satisfy major or elective requirements, provided that there are electives in the student’s degree plan.
