Leadership Day 2017

The Citadel's annual Leadership Day was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. On this day, all regularly scheduled classes were replaced with an on or off campus training, seminar, or service projects.

Each cadet participated in an approved Leadership Day activity. A majority of cadets used this day to complete their LDRS211, 311, or 411 graduation requirement.

In lieu of academic classes, all cadets participated in a service project or leadership training on Leadership Day.

  • Freshmen participated in the SHARE Program. Each freshman was assigned a team by company. Freshmen were led by trained upperclassmen and spent the day engaging elementary school students in an activity to increase their awareness of heroism and service to others.

  •  Sophomores chose among a variety of service projects on and off campus. Each sophomore was required to sign up on the Leadership Day signup page at citadel.givepulse.com.

  •  Juniors participated in the on-campus Junior Ethics Enrichment Experience (JEEE), also known as LDRS311. To get credit for this graduation requirement, juniors registered for LDRS311 for the fall semester through Banner.

  •  Seniors participated in a Senior Leadership Integration Seminar (SLIS/ LDRS411) of their choosing. Cadets selected which seminar location they wanted to attend and registered for their desired LDRS411 class through Banner.
