Leadership Day 2017
The Citadel's annual Leadership Day will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. On this day, all regularly scheduled classes are replaced with an on or off campus training, seminar, or service projects.
Each cadet must participate in an approved Leadership Day activity. A majority of cadets will use this day to complete their LDRS211, 311, or 411 graduation requirement.
In lieu of academic classes, all cadets participate in a service project or leadership training on Leadership Day.
- Freshmen participate in the SHARE Program. Each freshman is assigned a team by company. Freshmen are led by trained upperclassmen and will spend the day engaging elementary school students in an activity to increase their awareness of heroism and service to others.
- Sophomores can choose among a variety of service projects on and off campus. Each sophomore is required to sign up on the Leadership Day signup page at citadel.givepulse.com.
- Juniors will participate in the on-campus Junior Ethics Enrichment Experience (JEEE), also known as LDRS311. To get credit for this graduation requirement, juniors must register for LDRS311 for the fall semester through Banner.
- Seniors will participate in a Senior Leadership Integration Seminar (SLIS/ LDRS411) of their choosing. Cadets must select which seminar location they wish to attend by registering for their desired LDRS411 class through Banner.
