Business school hires director for Bastin Financial Leadership Lab
Iordanis Karagiannidis has joined The Citadel School of Business Administration as director of the Rick and Mary Lee Bastin Financial Leadership Lab and assistant professor of finance.
The Rick and Mary Lee Bastin Financial Leadership Lab opened in 2010. The high-tech room is used for finance, production operation and accounting classes. It features 28 work stations with dual monitors, a RISE electronic ticker and feeds from NYSE on a 15-minutes delay.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Karagiannidis as part of the School of Business Administration,” said Dean Ron Green. “His experience as a professor and director of the Financial Analysis Laboratory at Michigan State University will greatly benefit our students.”
In addition to directing the Bastin Lab, Karagiannidis will teach finance to undergraduate and graduate students.
Karagiannidis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Macedonia in Greece, his MBA from Rutgers University and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. In addition to serving as a visiting assistant professor of finance at Michigan State University, Karagiannidis also taught at Rutgers University School of Business-Camden. Moreover, he worked at the Multinational Finance Journal in Camden, N.J., as an editorial assistant and at the Chamber of Commerce in Greece as a certified accountant.
