Captain Tim Bott, Ph.D.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Science. My teaching responsibilities focus on pedagogy, motor development, and motor learning at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Colonel Harry Davakos, D.P.E. I am a Professor of HESS and my teaching responsibilities cover the fields of Sport Management (directing the program). I teach courses of Sport Marketing, Administration, and Finance of Sports, as well as subjects in Managing Sport Organizations, Fundraising, Public Relations and Promotions, Sport Psychology and Sport Sociology, and I oversee the Field Experiences for the Sport Management students. My research interests are in Student Portfolios, Economic Impact of Sports, Human Resources issues in Sports, and Internationalization of Sports and Kinesiology. Captain Wes Dudgeon, Ph.D. I am an Assistant Professor in HESS and my teaching responsibilities focus on exercise physiology and the interaction of exercise/physical activity and health. My research interests include the physiological and psychological impact of exercise training in persons living with HIV. I am also interested in measuring stress in college students, both athletes and non-athletes, and finding practical ways of reducing these stressors. I have served on the HESS faculty since 2008. Major Dena Garner, Ph.D. I am an Associate Professor in HESS with my teaching responsibilities focusing on exercise physiology, sports nutrition, adapted physical education, and measurement and evaluation. Captain Linda Schoonmaker, Ph.D. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Exercise and Sport Science. My teaching responsibilities are in the areas of sport governance, sport venue and event management, risk management in sport, recreation, and physical activity programs, and legal aspects of sport at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My research interest is the area of gender equity in interscholastic athletics. I have been a member of the Department faculty since 2008.

Colonel Josey Templeton, Ed.D. I am a Professor in the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Science. I have been a member of The Citadel faculty since 1989 and I advise undergraduate and graduate students in the teaching track and MAT programs in HESS. I currently teach courses in health and physical education curriculum and methodology of teaching dance, elementary physical education, and health education.
