Financial Assistance Outside of The Citadel

Private or Outside Scholarships

Numerous corporations, employers, professional organizations, foundations, local civic organizations, churches, and high schools make scholarships available to Citadel students. However, finding outside or private scholarships requires initiative on a student's part. If you are interested in these types of scholarships, consult with your high school counselor, employer, or civic leaders and use the local library to locate information on organizations that offer scholarships.

Rotary Club Scholarships

Contact the Rotary in your home town to inquire about various scholarships offered, to learn about the qualities the organization supports in successful applicants, and for details on how to apply for awards. Learn more about Rotary International's one year Rotary Scholar fund for overseas graduate program studies. 

South Carolina Association of CPAs Scholarships  

The South Carolina Association of CPAs (SCACPA) Educational Fund provides several annual merit-based scholarships to undergraduate and graduate accounting majors who are South Carolina residents. Students do not need to be SCACPA members to be eligible; however, student membership in the association is free. United Negro College Fund (UNCF)/Koch Scholars Program

UNCF and the Charles Koch Foundation have partnered to provide an education initiative that explores how entrepreneurship, economics, and innovation contribute to the well-being of individuals, communities, and society. Please see website information about scholarship opportunities combining academic support, mentoring, and networking opportunities for exemplary undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students in eligible fields of study. 

Vocational Rehabilitation Scholarships

The Vocational Rehabilitation Scholarships provide for education and training if a student has a physical or mental disability which is a substantial handicap to employment and there exists reasonable expectation that vocational rehabilitation services may lead to gainful employment. Additional information is available through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation in your home state.

Sirrine Scholarship

Sirrine Scholarships are for Greenville County residents who are selected on the basis of financial need and academic ability. Applications are available in your Greenville County high school counselor's office.

Methodist Student Loan Fund

The Methodist Student Loan Fund provides loans for up to $700 per year at 3 percent interest rate per year. Repayment must start within six months of discontinuing full-time attendance. For applications, contact the Office of Loans and Scholarships, Board of Higher Education and Ministry, The United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 871, Nashville, TN 37202, or the Financial Aid Office.

Knights of Columbus

Loans of up to $500 are available for members and dependents of the Knights of Columbus. Repayment begins six months after graduation or withdrawal from school. For applications, contact Knighs of Columbus, Student Loan Committee, P.O. Drawer 1670, New Haven, CT 06507.
