Originally from Warner Robins, Georgia, Ford graduated from the Corps in 1980 with a degree in business administration. He currently works in the field of education and is a retired senior military officer.

What are your top three career achievements to date?
My top three career achievements to date are being a former president and CEO of two corporate industries, mentoring individuals in senior military or corporate executive positions, and being a retired senior military officer.

What are your top personal achievements to date?
My top personal achievements include being married for 35 years and having two adult sons, earning multiple advanced degrees in public administration, program management and federal contracting, being recognized by athletic associations for state and All-American accomplishments, and receiving multiple awards and decorations for military and civic achievements.

What are your top three bucket list goals?
My top three bucket list goals are to visit all the U.S. monuments and national sites, to establish a grant for African males, and to maintain physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle through the age of 95 years old.

How did attending The Citadel help position you for success?
The challenges I faced at The Citadel confirmed the ideals that my parents had instilled and emphasized for me. My experiences at The Citadel encouraged my need for support from people of similar backgrounds and experiences. My time at The Citadel also helped me understand that hard work trumps talent and it provided me with the foundation to define my own ideas about success. I learned that I am the only person that can define my success.
