Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Horton graduated from the Corps in 1979 with a degree in political science. He currently resides in Georgia and works in the field of information technology.
What are your top three career achievements to date?
My top three career achievements to date include becoming an officer in the U.S. Army, becoming CEO of Uniti Technologies, and becoming CEO of William-Hamilton-Horton.
What are your top three personal achievements to date?
My top three personal achievements to date are getting married and raising a family, seeing both of my children graduate from top colleges, and getting my MBA in applied finance.
What are your top three bucket list goals?
My top three bucket list goals are to travel the world, to achieve fluency in Spanish, and to learn how to fly a plane.
How did attending The Citadel help position you for success?
Attending The Citadel taught me the value of teamwork and leadership. As cadets, we were accountable for our actions as well as the actions of our team. The value of teamwork has stuck with me in everything I have done. At The Citadel, I learned to be a part of something larger than myself. Finally, I learned that if you want to lead, you must first learn how to follow.
