Ed-Bracey

I am originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, and I graduated from The Citadel in 1978 with a degree in political science. I am currently in the field of business development.

What are your top three career achievements to date?
First, I was a national advertising sales manager for AAA National Headquarters. Second, I was a top project sales manager for Fairfield (now Wyndham Resorts). Lastly, I headed the Washington, D.C. City Hall Marine Security Team for President Reagan’s Inauguration.

What are your top three personal achievements to date?
I raised and cared for my son until he passed away from cancer. I’ve led several dream sales teams to meteoric achievements; my last team sold over 45 million dollars annually between 11 members. I’ve also had the opportunity to sing background vocals for three Grammy winners.

What are your top bucket list goals?
I hope to maximize the goal of my non-profit, Synergy of Empowered Women, which strives to mentor achievers on a greater scale. I also hope to be regarded internationally as an expert in the areas of achievement, mentorship, and success.

How did attending The Citadel help position you for success?
The bond of my Citadel brothers, both black and white, helped me overcome the death of my son. My classmates showed up in huge numbers at his funeral even though they had never met him. This is what brotherhood is all about. Their support, through laughter, stories, and shared comradery made all the difference in pressing on to achieve. I have been a guest for my Citadel graduates at debriefing periods after months of being undercover in federal service. These are the ways in which we support each other.
