I am a native of Charleston, South Carolina and I joined the Corps as a member of Golf Company. I graduated in 1991 with a degree in business administration. After graduation, I joined the U.S. Army. And I am currently the U.S. Army Chief of Ordnance.

What are your top three career achievements to date?
I have commanded the U.S. Army at all levels. I was the first African American alumnus to be selected as Brigadier General in the active Army. I am also a demonstrated Master Logistician.

What are your top personal achievements to date?
First, I am a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. I am also the third African American to serve as the U.S. Army Chief of Ordnance since the founding of the U.S. Army Ordnance School in 1812.

How did attending The Citadel help position you for success?
The Citadel provided a great foundation of leadership and discipline that enabled me to bloom wherever I was planted. I learned as a cadet at The Citadel to “never doubt your power because doing so gives power to your doubt.”
