Austin Gray graduated as a member of The South Carolina Corps of Cadets (Golf Company) in 2013 with a degree in Heath Exercise and Sport Science. He is an environmentalist with more than six years in aquatic and environmental toxicology. Gray lives in Greensboro, North Carolina where he is an environmental sciences doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Earned 6 research awards at the regional and national levels Appointed to the Society of Environmental Chemistry north America Board of Directors as the student representative Serving as the Chair of the North American SETAC Student Advisor Council

Accepted into PhD program and currently working towards by doctorate Completed my Masters in 15 months Presented research within and outside the United States

Skydiving; taking a cross-country diner trip, and visiting Italy

How did attending The Citadel help position you for success
The Citadel prepared me in so many ways. I grew as a person as well as a leader. The experiences while I was a cadet still follow me to this day. I have constantly been thrown in high stressful situations while In graduate school, however due to my time and experience as a cadet, I have been able to overcome many obstacles. I carry lessons from The Citadel into various aspects of my life, whether as a researcher, student, or friend. All of it centers around personal integrity and never compromising your integrity.
