Complete Your Nursing Degree at The Citadel
The Swain Department of Nursing offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing. The program is dedicated to growing the next generation of nurse leaders through learning in a caring environment.
For students who have earned a minimum of 60 college level transferable credit hours, the degree completion program allows students the flexibility and convenience to finish a nursing degree at The Citadel.
The program is designed and offered to enable the full time student to complete the upper division of the program and receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in five semesters. Similar to the Corps of Cadets, an 80 hour clinical course with 72 of those hours in direct patient care under the guidance of an expert preceptor finishes the spring semester. Junior and senior level nursing courses are taught in the evening on The Citadel’s campus.
The evening division is divided into five semesters. What students will learn:
- Nursing science and the science behind illness.
- The healthy adult.
- To care for acutely ill adult.
- Continued care for acutely ill adult and introduction to the care for special populations.
- Continued care for special populations as well as leadership skills.
