HR deputy director named employee of the year
The Citadel Employee Recognition Committee has recommended and President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa has approved the selection of Bridgette Beasley, deputy director of human resources, as the 2006 Citadel Employee of the Year.
The selection was made on the highest point tally compiled on 12 nominees on the criteria of "performing beyond the call of duty," extra effort to exemplify professionalism and outstanding contributions to The Citadel, fellow employees and the community.
Beasley joined The Citadel in November 2001 overseeing the operational and strategic components of employment, compensation and analysis for faculty, staff, temporary, and student positions. She also is responsible for advising the administration on workplace conflict resolution, investigating and resolving employee grievance issues, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and facilitating training. In 2005, she was named interim Equal Employment Opportunity/affirmative action director.
Beasley holds degrees from Jefferson State, Birmingham-Southern College, Southern Illinois University and Averett University. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Development Roundtable Program at Virginia Union University, a 2004 and 2005 finalist for the South Carolina Human Resources Professional of The Year, a recipient of the 2005 Forty under Forty Award, and a 2005 graduate of the South Carolina Human Resources Professional Development Program.
She serves as the president of the Tri-County Human Resources Management Association and is the 1st vice president for the South Carolina Industry Liaison Group. Her philanthropic efforts include serving as an advisory council member for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, as a volunteer presenter for employment workshops for the Department of Social Services and as a Wall of Tolerance member and contributor.
Beasley was recognized at the Friday, April 7 military dress parade.
