Diana Cheshire, Ph.D.

Professor

Dr. Cheshire is currently the Director of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and Distance Education and a Professor in the Zucker Family School of Education at The Citadel.

Dr. Cheshire was an Associate Dean and the Director of Instruction and Design in the Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, the Dean of the School of Education and Exercise Science and the Director of the Nina Mason Pulliam Ecolab and the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and she was the Director of Institutional Assessment at George Fox University in Newburg, Oregon. Dr. Cheshire’s experience also includes faculty appointments at Anderson University, Point Loma Nazarene University, and the College of Charleston where she was awarded the Teacher Scholar Award for excellence in teaching and research.

Dr. Cheshire was a mathematics teacher, primarily in California, where she taught for over 15 years. She has also worked for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the State of California, and Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA) in South Carolina. Her research and professional interests are in instructional design and technology, assessment, reform, mathematics education, and computer-mediated learning.
