Kathy M. Jones received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, MD and her Bachelor of Science in Applied Science from Youngstown State University, OH. Ms. Jones is a member of the American Association of University Women, National Career Development Association, National Academic Advising Association and the American Counseling Association. LTC Jones retired from U. S. Army in 2001 serving as the first woman Assistant Professor of Military Science at The Citadel. She was also Chief of Staff and the first woman Executive Officer of a forward deployed support battalion with a multinational peacekeeping force in Sinai, Egypt. Her other active duty assignments included oversight of training requirements of the Army Guard and Reserve; coordinating the fielding of modernized U.S. Army equipment to the Army National Guard deployed in Somalia, Africa, and as a qualified parachute rigger, served as commander of a logistics company in the 5th Infantry Division, Fort Polk, LA. Kathy's military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Meritorious Service Medals and Parachutist and Rigger Badges. She has been actively involved with numerous organizations over the years, including Rotary Club of Charleston, Chicora School of Communications, People Against Rape, Board of Toole Military Magnet School and Parents Anonymous. She currently serves as an assistant sexual response and prevention coordinator, and sexual assault committee member at The Citadel. Kathy is Director of Business School Operations and MBA Program Administrator at The Citadel. She is married to Dr. Ray Jones, visiting professor in the School of Business Administration. Kathy and Ray, have three children and two granddaughters; they live with a retired racing Greyhound, Captain Morgan, in Mt. Pleasant. |
