Sykes is the current chair holder of the Frank W. Hipp Chair in Business at The Citadel. He is an active consultant to Banks, Central Banks, Multi-lateral Government Organizations and Financial institutions as well as serving on Boards. His work focuses on Risk Analysis and Asset Management. Sykes is an often requested speaker for the CFA Institute on Risk Management globally, in Europe, Asia and Australia as well as North America. He was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Beauchamp Financial Technology (2002 -- 2005) and a founding partner of Hamilton Investment Partners 2003 - 2007. He was the Chief Investment Officer and member of the Board of Directors of CDC Investment Management from 1997 to 2002. His professional interest focused on in Global Asset and Liquidity Management through Bayesian Allocation techniques. Previously, Sykes was the Chief Investment Officer of Bankers Trust's Private Bank and Managing Director of Bankers Trust's Global Investment Management operations. He was Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank managing the Portfolio Strategies Group and chairing its Investment Committee in London. His Group created the first delivered portfolio swap, designed to provide effective risk diversification for liquidity and effective asset management. Sykes directed Chase's Global Commodity Risk Management and European Index Linked Derivative Products businesses. He was an Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, as well as Chief International Fixed-Income Strategist for Drexel Burnham Lambert in London. Mr. Wilford has written in both the academic and popular press. His articles have appeared in research journals such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of Finance. He has authored, co-authored and edited several books, ranging from economic policy in developing countries to Managing Financial Risk, which was cited as the most important contribution to the literature in finance during the nineties. He has been a faculty member at several universities, including New York University, L'Université de Saint-Louis in Brussels, Belgium, and The University of New Orleans. He was Honorary Professor of Finance at the City University of London and Adjunct Professor of Finance at the College of Charleston. |
