Kimberly T. Black
Kim maintains a diverse background with experience in public relations, development, management, event planning and logistics, marketing, sales, career development and counseling, and human resources. She has held the position as Assistant to the Dean in the School of Business since 2009. In addition, she is presently the Event Coordinator for The Citadel Directors' Institute for the second consecutive year. Prior to coming to The Citadel, Kim served as the executive assistant to the CEO for the Polymer Group, Inc., and Blackbaud, Inc., as well as executive assistant to the CFO of Roper St. Francis Hospital. She was also the Program Coordinator of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program for the State of South Carolina. Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Communications at Appalachian State University.
In addition, to these positions, Kim has developed her talents and skills by being an adult computer instructor and owner/manager of a mail order business for ten years. While originally from Greensboro, NC, she has made her home in Charleston, SC for the past thirteen years. In her spare time, Kim enjoys cooking southern food, reading, fishing and swimming. As the mother of four children, her favorite pastime is spending time with her children.
