Brian Norris

Brian Norris lived and worked in Latin America for 5 years and has completed 31 international research or work trips since 1997. Trained as a comparativist and Latin Americanist, his professional country experience includes Bolivia, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, Paraguay, Ecuador, Panama, Argentina, Cuba, Peru, India, and Zambia. Prison Bureaucracies in the United States, Mexico, India, and Honduras is a peer-reviewed book in production with Lexington Books, Lanham, MD (an academic imprint of Rowman & Littlefield) and is due for publication in February 2018. He is author of scholarly publications on demographic changes in South America; on credit institutions in the US South and in South America; and on criminal justice institutions and their leadership in Mexico. He is president of the World Affairs Council of Charleston and is an active promoter of area studies. He lives in Charleston, SC with his wife and three daughters.
