Spring is high tourist season in Charleston. In addition there are numerous other events and other graduation ceremonies that could affect your local travel plans. Among them: the Charleston Dragon Boat Festival at Brittlebank Park on Lockwood Boulevard and adjacent to campus. The event occurs at the same time as the Corps of Cadets commencement. Consider alternate routes when traveling from downtown to The Citadel campus.
Leave early to account for traffic and the time it will take to park at the events you plan to attend at The Citadel.
The importance of the week's ceremonies will dictate the dress for specific events. The weather should be considered when packing. Although not required, business attire would be appropriate for commencement exercises. Casual attire is appropriate for most other events.
