“We are pleased with this incoming class and we are looking forward to watching them grow as leaders and members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets,” said Lt. Col. John Powell, ’77, director of admissions.
The Class of 2012 freshmen profile was released today. Powell said this class marks several milestones:
- Largest class in 32 years
- Second largest number of women since the college began admitting women in 1996
- Third highest number of applications
- Highest average high school GPA
- Second highest average SAT
During the first year, students learn the best qualities of character, physical fitness, ethics, honor, integrity and courage through a military and disciplined environment. The first step – learn how to be followers so in succeeding years additional duties and responsibilities in leadership roles can be achieved.
