Assessments

The ability to read critically, to write clearly, and to reason quantitatively provides a strong foundation for academic success at the college level. Therefore, Citadel students MUST take the Placement Exams required for their major course of study:

Mathematics Placement Exam for incoming students who are majoring in: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry (B.S.), or who either are pursuing a minor or are in a scholarship program that requires MATH 131 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus I).
  2. Foreign Language Placement Exam (French, German, or Spanish) for all incoming students, except for Engineering and Education Majors.
  3. The Leadership Writing Sample for all incoming students regardless of major course of study or transfer credits.

The instructions for the specific placement exams, as well as login instructions for CitLearn, can be found in the menu to the left.
