Citadel offers teachers course on writing children's books

The Lowcountry Writing Project at The Citadel is now accepting applications for a three-graduate-hour course on writing children’s books. The course is open to public and private school teachers in all grade levels and subject areas.

Sessions meet at The Citadel on from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Jan. 17 through March 27, with Saturday sessions from 1-4 p.m. on Jan. 21 and Feb. 4. Local authors and publishers will share their stories and offer tips to help writers get started; classes will also include time to read and discuss works in progress.

The cost is $300. The course application is available online at www.citadel.edu/writingproject. Click on “writing children’s books.” Applications will be accepted through Jan. 13.
