Dr. Rebecca A. Hunter

Dr. Hunter earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she worked on the development of electrochemical nitric oxide sensors for use in biological systems. Her current research interests involve using a variety of analytical techniques to study the impact of the environment—particularly microbial growth—on the decay of historic artifacts and architecture, and the development of materials to remediate biological contamination of historic artifacts. In addition, she works with local breweries on developing methods to evaluate their brewing process. Dr. Hunter teaches both introductory and upper-level undergraduate chemistry courses.
