Career planning is an integral part of life at The Citadel. The Career Center takes a proactive, collaborative approach which helps students be active participants in their professional journey, starting first semester in Leaders 101. Career planning and job search skills, like resume writing, behavioral-based interview techniques and salary negotiation are embedded into our Leadership Development Program for a total of 6 required career touch points. In addition to traditional career services support - like drop-in hours, career fairs and weekly recruiting events - supplementary career education is integrated into many academic departments. Through this, students explore professions, prepare for the real world (need better word) and learn the importance of engage early to develop multiple professional options.

As a result of these collaborations, The Citadel consistently reports well above national averages for placement outcomes. Over 80% of the South Carolina Corp of Cadets report professional employment, military, or graduate school acceptance at graduation and above 90% six months after graduation (National averages for NACE are six months 53.4% traditional employment after 6 months and 17.5 pursuing graduate school).

Due to staff size, The Citadel Career Center is not able to offer online resume reviews, but we have drop-in hours daily from 1-4pm Mon-Thurs.
