Professor inspires cadets to give
|
When Capt. Kathy Zanin’s breast cancer returned in January, she had no idea that her illness would have an impact on her students. In fact, the assistant biology professor only missed a couple of weeks of classes. But cadets surprised her Tuesday afternoon when they made a contribution to the American Cancer Society for $400 in her name.
The donation was made by members of BioCid, the biology honor society, from membership dues and faculty contributions. Last week, the club donated $850 to the MUSC Children’s Hospital Child Life Department.
