Archives and Museum conducts self study
The Citadel Archives and Museum has conducted a self study of its procedures, operations, and facilities to map out a strategic plan for the future of the college’s archival holdings. The study was made possible by an organization assessment grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The $4,000 Museum Assessment Program grant provided services and resources, including a two-day site visit by an expert museum professional reviewer.
“This report gives us the analysis we need to begin the fundraising necessary to build a state-of-the-art museum to display the institution’s collections and honor the achievements of our distinguished alumni,” said Elizabeth Connor, interim director of library services. “Our goal is to be able to preserve and display the collections we have so that we can continue to tell The Citadel story.”
IMLS supports the innovation, lifelong learning, and cultural and civic engagement of libraries and museums by providing leadership through research, policy development and grant making.
