Alcohol and Haven Programs

Alcohol and Sexual Assault Prevention Programs


All Class of 2021 cadets regardless of major or transfer credits, must complete BOTH programs below.

Failure to complete these programs will result in 10-demerits and 20-tours assigned by the Assistant Commandant for Discipline.

 

1. Alcohol Misuse Prevention (AlcoholEdu)

Program Description
This program is a non-opinionated, science-based course taken by thousands of cadets and college students each year. Whether or not you drink alcohol, AlcoholEdu empowers students to make well-informed decisions and provides strategies to help keep you and your friends safe.

  • Part 1- Monday, July 3, 2017 through Friday, August 4, 2017
  • Part 2 - Monday, October 9, 2017 through Friday, October 20, 2017
    (When it is time to complete Part 2, you will receive a reminder sent to your campus email.)

2. Sexual Assault Prevention (Haven)

Program Description
This program educates students about the elements of healthy relationships, the importance of sexual consent, and the role of bystanders in creating safe, healthy communities.

  • Part 1 - Monday, July 3, 2017 through Friday, August 4, 2017
  • Part 2 - Monday, October 9, 2017 through Friday, October 20, 2017

Instructions

To fulfill The Citadel's requirements:

  • Go to: http://www.everfi.com/register
  • Enter the Registration Code: 8e8e7a9b and click “I’m a Student” to create your EverFi Account
  • Complete Part 1 of both AlcoholEdu AND Haven by Friday, August 4, 2017.
  • After 30-45 days, you will receive an invitation to complete Part 2.

 

Other Important Information:

  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major web browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) released within the previous two years.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings.
  • The course may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.
  • Should you experience problems, technical support is available 24/7 and can be accessed from the “Help” link within the course.
  • Failure to complete these programs will result in 10-demerits and 20-tours assigned by the Assistant Commandant for Discipline.
