Freshman military training begins Monday
Military training and processing gets under way Monday, Aug. 15 at The Citadel, providing several photo opportunities for the media.
- At 7 a.m. Brig. Gen. Emory Mace, commandant of cadets, will address the nearly 700 members of the freshman class. The speech will last about 25 minutes.
- From 8 a.m. to noon freshmen will get measured for uniforms and begin military orientation and training. Reporters and cameras are welcomed in outdoor locations.
- At 6 p.m. freshmen will be sworn in during a 15-minute ceremony on Summerall Field. In the event of rain, check with Public Affairs on an alternate location.
