EL CID Visit Program
For years, The Citadel has been referred to as El Cid--a nickname used mostly by alumni, cadets, Charlestonians, and anyone else familiar with the college. Today, however, it is also the name of the college's summer visit program.
EL CID (Citadel Information Day) is a three-hour informational program that occurs four times each summer. It is open to any student who would like to learn more about The Citadel, but it is aimed primarily at high school students who have not yet begun their senior year. As part of the program, EL CID participants receive information on various aspects of the cadet lifestyle (see below), as well as a campus tour.
In order to register for your EL CID visit, please click the date below that corresponds to the visit you wish to attend. Each session will give you an opportunity to see what makes The Citadel different from other colleges and universities. After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with directions to campus, parking, and hotel information. The program is FREE, and the following topics will be covered:
- Majors & Minors
- The Citadel's Leadership Development Program
- Career Services
- Admission Requirements
- Financial Aid & Scholarships
