Faculty
The Faculty of the College consists of the President, the Provost/Dean of the College, the Associate Provosts, the Academic Deans, members of the permanent faculty who are tenured or on tenure-track in the academic ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor. The faculty of The Citadel also comprises officers detailed for duty at the College by the Department of the Army, the Department of the Air Force, or the Department of the Navy. To see a list of faculty, please contact the Office of the Provost/Dean of the College.
Members of the permanent faculty (tenured and tenure-track positions) may be hired at the academic ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. As a general policy, new members of the faculty are employed at the lowest academic rank commensurate with the duties to be assumed.
Faculty members who are given probationary (tenure-track) appointments will receive commissions in the Unorganized Militia of South Carolina and will be required to wear the military uniform as described in uniforms_and_military_rank.pdf
