What is the best way to search for someone in the online directory?

  • Search for a person's first name, last name, or both.

  • If your search generates an error of too many matches, narrow your search by choosing either cadets, faculty/staff, or non-cadets as the searchable database or by entering more name information (i.e. first AND last name). You can find the database choices above the search button on the main online directory page.

  • If you cannot find the person you are looking for in the online directory, remember that a person's first name in the College's databases may be different than their common name, so search for their proper first name.

    For example, instead of Hank, search for Henry.

Why can't I get more than 20 matches?

In order to prevent the online directory from being used to generate long e-mail or phone lists for marketing purposes, The Citadel has decided to limit the number of single-search matches to 20. By using the individual databases (cadets, faculty/staff, non-cadets), you should be able to narrow your search to properly identify individuals at The Citadel.

Where does the directory information come from?

The student information (cadets and non-cadets) listed in the online directory comes from the Student Information System (SIS) database of currently enrolled students. This information is updated nightly.

The faculty and staff information listed in the online directory comes from the Human Resources System (HRS) database of current employees. This information is updated nightly.

If my information in the online directory is incorrect, how do I change it?

If you find that your information in the online directory is incorrect, please contact the following office to update your information:

  • Cadets and Active-Duty Students - Office of the Registrar
  • CGPS Students - College of Graduate and Professional Studies
  • Faculty/Staff (paid by The Citadel) - Department of Human Resources
    As of February 2005, faculty and staff who are paid by The Citadel can revise their online directory information using WISE (Web Information System for Employees). If a department or job title is incorrect, please contact the Classification and Employment Manager in HR.
  • Faculty/Staff (not paid by The Citadel) -
    As of July 2005, faculty and staff who are not paid by The Citadel can revise their online directory information by contacting their departmental point of contact:
    • Aerospace Science (Air Force ROTC) - TBA
    • Aramark/Dining Services - TBA
    • Military Science (Army ROTC) - amy.robinson@citadel.edu
