Help with PDF files

To read PDF documents, you need to use a tool made by Adobe Systems called Acrobat Reader software. This software is free and works with your browser (ie Netscape, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc) to display documents that are in the PDF (Portable Document Format).

What is an Adobe PDF file?

If you already have Adobe's free Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer:

  1. Click on the link on the previous page that you'd like to read or print.
  2. The PDF document will appear in your browser window.
  3. If you desire, click on the "Print" button at the top of your browser window.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may have a problem printing unless you click on the print icon on the Acrobat toolbar. This icon is a picture of a printer that appears at the far left directly under the Address URL box when a PDF document is opened in Explorer.

If you do NOT have Adobe's Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer:

  1. Click on "Get Acrobat Reader" to download a copy of the software from Adobe Systems Web site–see below.
  2. Follow the installation instructions on the Adobe Web site to properly install the software.
  3. Click on the link on the previous page that you'd like to read or print.
  4. The PDF document will appear in your browser window.
