The Club Sports program is supervised by the Department of Health, Exercise and Sport Science. A Director of Club Sports, faculty advisors and volunteer coaches support each team's captains. Club Sports provide limited extramural competition in activities that are not governed by the NCAA or Southern Conference.
The Club Sports Program is designed to respond to the changing recreational interests of current students and to allow for emerging competitive sports. For that reason, not all of the listed clubs are active all of the time. Those named here have traditionally been popular at The Citadel and are either currently active or have been active within the past five years. Club sports historically established include boxing, crew, cycling, kendo, lacrosse, pistol, rugby, sailing, scuba diving, skydiving, tae kwon do, triathlon, and volleyball. Recently, ice hockey, soccer, paintball and weightlifting teams have also been created.
The Club Sports web page contains information about each current club sport, staff contact information, and a list of frequently-asked questions. Click here for the Club Sports page.
