The Writing and Learning Strategies Program serves the Citadel community through its primary focus of enhancing writing and study skills. Special attention is given to improving the skills of fourth-class cadets through individual tutorials and such writing workshops as reviewing punctuation, writing research papers, organizing essays, and taking the essay exam. Most freshmen clients schedule weekly writing and/or learning strategies appointments. A few learning strategies topics include notetaking, time management, stress management, and test preparation. One-time writing appointments are also available for all students, including graduate students. Although occasional drop-in appointments are available, to guarantee an appointment when needed, please call several days in advance to schedule the appointment.
