A presidential visit United States President George W. Bush honored The Citadel with a visit on December 11, 2001--three months to the day after the tragic terrorist attacks on America. The Corps of Cadets welcomed the president with rowdy applause and shouting that drowned out Hail to the Chief as he entered McAlister Field House. Thirty minutes after he began his speech on the future security of the nation, the Corps sent him off with a extended standing ovation. |
