John W. Rosa Jr.
Lieutenant General, USAF
 |
Lt. Gen. John Rosa will assume his responsibilities as the
19th president of The Citadel on Jan. 3, five days before
the Corps of Cadets returns from Christmas furlough to begin the spring semester.
The president-elect has already handled his first official
duty by representing The Citadel at the VMI game in
Lexington, Va., on Nov. 19. At the end of that game,
he accepted the Silver Shako, the trophy that goes to
the winner of the Military Classic of the South.
Gen. Rosa and his wife, Donna, will complete their move
into Quarters One between now and the end of the year.
Maj. Gen. Roger C. Poole, who has served as interim
president of The Citadel since Aug. 1, is handling
all issues related to the transition to the new president.
Rosa turned over his duties as superintendent of the U.S.
Air Force Academy during a change-of command ceremony on
Oct. 24 and retired from active duty this month.
