On graduation, NROTC Scholarship
midshipmen are Commissioned as Ensigns in the United States Navy or Second
Lieutenants in the United States Marine Corps |

Military service obligation
minimum of eight years in unrestricted line, at least four of which must be
active duty. Officers serving in selected warfare specialties (e.g. Nuclear
Power, Aviation) may incur more. |

Personnel designated College
Program Advanced Standing must serve a minimum of three years active duty.

It is possible to request assignment to a
Restricted Line/Staff Corps option (for example--Supply Corps, Intelligence,
or Oceanography), but the primary intent of the NROTC Program is to commission
Unrestricted Line Officers in the Navy and Marine Corps |

Midshipmen disenrolled from the
NROTC Scholarship Program for honorable reasons beyond their control (e.g.
medical disqualification) will normally be discharged without penalty

Minimum of two years active
enlisted service or recoupment of all tuition dollars paid may be required for
midshipmen who disenroll or are disenrolled from the NROTC Scholarship Program
for academic, personal, disciplinary, and/or suitability reasons after the
first day of their sophomore year |

If disenrolled, personnel who
were originally on active duty and were released early to accept NROTC
Scholarships must complete their original enlisted contracts |
