Configuring DHCP/Wireless
Windows XP
Install your card according to the manufacturer's installation instructions and verify that your drivers are working properly per the manufacturer's specifications.
In some places in these instructions there will be two ways to proceed depending on your configuration of Windows XP.
- In the Start menu select Run
- In the Run dialog box type control panel .

- You will see one of the following two screens:

If you see the second image, skip to Step 4b
- Select Network and Internet Connections, you will see the following window:

- Select Network Connections at the bottom-right of the window and proceed to step 5
- For those who have the second image, double-click Network Connections
- You will see a window like the one below, but it may have several items.

Right-click the icon for your wireless network connection and select Properties.
- You will see a window like the one below:

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
If you cannot click the properties buttion you may not have administrative rights to the computer.
Log off and log in as a user with administrative rights.
- You will see a window like the one below:

Make sure the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically items
are selected. Click OK on this window and the previous window to close them.
- Click the Wireless Networks tab, then click the Advanced button.

- Make sure you click on Access point (infrastructure) networks only. Then click on Close and then click
OK to all the windows before.

You should now be able to access the wireless network!
