Wireless Services
This service allows members of The Citadel Community (Students and Faculty) with a laptop,
and an appropriate wireless networking card to access the campus network and the Internet from
areas around campus where wireless has been activated.
Wireless access is now available in all major seating areas of first and second floor of the library. Click here for a listing of other areas on campus where wireless is available
To offer the potential benefits of this service to The Citadel Community, Network Support
Services(NSS) is in the process of deploying a campus-wide wireless network.
Your laptop or PDA will need to be capable of utilizing a wireless adapter card that supports
the IEEE 802.11b or 802.11g standards. Some computing devices are now coming with wireless capability
built-in; in this case you don't need a separate adapter card.
You will also need to be a Citadel student, faculty member or staff to to login to the network via the campus
Wireless Authentication System (WAS). If you need help or assistance with wireless access, please submit a hotline.
Recommended Wireless cards:
- Linksys - Wireless-G, 802.11G and 802.11B compatible.
- D-Link - AirPlus G, 802.11G and 802.11B compatible.
- Other manufacturers' 802.11b cards may work.
