Keep North Charleston Beautiful and Keep Charleston Beautiful are sponsoring
the annual Clean Cities Sweep, April 19 - 26, 2009. Thousands of volunteers
participate each year by planning a cleanup and/or beautification event in
their community. Groups that register to participate are eligible for contests
and prizes, free project supplies, and a Clean Cities Sweep planning kit.
School groups may participate in the Clean Cities Sweep Program during the
months of March and April.
Over 100 community events were registered in 2008, resulting in 24,580 pounds
of litter collected and the installation of 568 flowers, plants and trees.
Oppotunities to participate include planning an Earth Day event, planting a garden,
coordinating a cleanup, promoting the event at your business or organization, and
being a sponsor.

or to become a program sponsor.
