TEW, CHARLES COURTNEY

Graduated first in the first graduation class of The Citadel in 1846. He was a colonel in the Confederate Army, and was killed at Sharpsburg (Antietam) in 1862. He was also superintendent of the Arsenal, the sister military academy to The Citadel, in Columbia, 1856-1858.
